Leo Esakia (1934-2010)
The Fifth International Conference on Topology, Algebra and Categories
in Logic is dedicated to the memory of the great Georgian logician Leo Esakia
(1934-2010).
Leo was the founder of the logic school in Georgia. He made numerous important
contributions to the study of algebraic and topological semantics of modal and
intuitionistic logics. Several landmark theorems in the field bear his name. Leo
also contributed immensely to establishing a strong research community working
on algebraic, topological, and categorical methods in logic. In particular, he
was one of the driving forces in establishing the TACL conference series.
